ABOUT Music Therapy Associates

A key commitment of MTA is our emphasis on working in collaboration with therapists and professionals of other domains, i.e. speech therapists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. We also provide rehabilitation services to clients who have neurologic impairment/disorders such as stroke, Parkinson's, and brain injuries.

MTA contracts with Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, Mercy Special Learning Center, Community Music School and private clients throughout the community. In addition to our office location, we maintain community sites to provide our clients the opportunity to receive the added value of contact within their community.

For each client, a music therapy assessment is completed and a plan is created with input from parents, teachers, and other therapists. Developmental goals in functional areas such as motor skills, speech and language and appropriate social/emotional responses are identified and pursued through musical activities.

Documentation is prepared to meet your specific requirements. Music therapy is generally reimbursable under FSS (Family Services Support) and FDSS (Family Driven Support Services) funding provided through the county of client residence.
